We are seeking a passionate Counsellor to join our clinical team at the South West Aboriginal Medical Service (SWAMS). As a Counsellor, you will play a vital role in providing culturally safe and respectful support to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and group counselling sessions to clients with mental health issues, substance abuse, and disabilities.
- Develop and implement culturally sensitive treatment plans in collaboration with clients and other healthcare professionals.
- Conduct risk assessments and manage risk to ensure client safety.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients.
- Participate in health promotion initiatives and events to support the well-being of our community.
- Tertiary qualification in Counselling, Social Work, or Psychology.
- Well-developed counselling skills and experience working with Aboriginal communities.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage a caseload effectively.
- Sound interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Current Working with Children Check, WA Driver's Licence, and National Police Certificate.
