Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated, self-starting water and wastewater engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to a wide range of municipal water and wastewater engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently perform engineering tasks related to water supply, wastewater treatment, pump/lift stations, sanitary sewer design, and water distribution systems.
  • Support or serve as Project Manager on various municipal water and wastewater projects.
  • Lead and conduct technical reviews of engineering deliverables such as construction drawings, technical specifications, and hydraulic modeling reports.
  • Make design decisions that align with project goals and regulatory requirements for drinking water systems and wastewater infrastructure.
  • Proactively identify and resolve technical, scheduling, or budget-related issues in coordination with clients and the project team.
  • Assist with contractor selection, bidding support, and preparation of contract documents for water and wastewater utility projects.
  • Oversee construction administration tasks, including responding to contractor inquiries, issuing addenda, conducting field observations, and recommending change orders.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates, engineering service proposals, and project schedules for new opportunities in the water/wastewater utility market.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in one or more states where we operate or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in water and wastewater system design, including pipelines, treatment plants, pump stations, and related utility infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop construction documents, manage technical tasks, and support or lead projects through all phases—from planning and permitting to construction administration.
  • Proficiency in engineering software, modeling tools, and technical equipment used in municipal water/wastewater engineering.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including experience writing technical reports, regulatory submittals, and proposals.
