Job Title: Head of Collections Strategy

We are seeking an experienced professional to lead our Collections Strategy team and drive the financial health of our Credit Cards portfolios through effective delinquency and debt recovery strategy management.

About the Role:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive three-year strategy with an annual roadmap and be responsible for annual planning and quarterly business reviews.
  • Provide thought leadership in the collections space and arrears management strategy for the business unit.
  • Lead a high-performing team of two analysts in designing, implementing, and monitoring the Pay BU's credit risk strategy, aligning it with the business' Path to Full Potential strategy.
  • Analyse delinquency data and performance trends to identify ongoing opportunities for strategy optimisations and operational efficiencies.
  • Manage and share key data insights on delinquency and loss performance against target.
  • Foster strong collaboration with Collections Operations and Hardship teams to deliver seamless and effective execution of collections strategy, operational effectiveness of debt and customer management.
  • Be responsible for debt sale management, including optimising our debt sale strategy, maintaining debt sale governance, and ensuring all forward flow and inventory tenders are completed.
  • Manage key strategic relationships with key advisory/debt management partners.
  • Collaborate with key internal stakeholders on financial reporting, forecast and budget planning.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies, maintaining high ethical standards in all collection activities.
Requirements:
  • With a solid background in designing and implementing a data-driven credit risk strategy within the financial services industry for consumer credit portfolios.
  • Has a strong understanding of delinquency risk management, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • With strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • With a bachelor's degree in a numeric discipline or related field.
  • Experience working with or knowledge of relevant collections industry associations is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and management.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and industry trends.
