The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our Health and Safety Management System. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a thorough understanding of Health and Safety regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a Health and Safety Management System that aligns with ISO 45001 standards.
- Conduct risk assessments on new processes, facilities, and materials to identify potential hazards.
- Provide leadership and direction for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of our Health and Safety Management System.
- Develop and deliver Health and Safety training programs to ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements.
- Implement a program to mitigate illness and injury risks, including support for return to work programs and injury management.
- Engage and influence key stakeholders to drive a Health and Safety culture within the organization.
- Support, coach, and mentor leaders to ensure accountability for Health and Safety performance.
- Foster a culture of reporting Health and Safety adverse events, including incidents, injuries, near misses, and hazards.
- Ensure effective incident investigation and root cause analysis is conducted.
- Develop and maintain our reputation for excellence in Health and Safety.
About You
- You have experience in automotive manufacturing or another manufacturing industry.
- You have the experience, capability, and leadership to influence positive Health and Safety outcomes.
- You have a thorough understanding of Health and Safety regulatory requirements.
- You have the capability to document and implement Health and Safety plans, processes, and programs.
- You have a tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or ISO 45001 experience.
