Virtual Assessment Team Lead Role

The Virtual Assessment Team Lead is responsible for guiding and overseeing the team's virtual assessments, ensuring high scope accuracy, and end-to-end management of claims.

This role involves organizing ongoing training and coaching to the team, ensuring that Desktop Home Assessors are consistent and effective in their approach to virtual assessments and validation of Scope of Works.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Culture Development - The Virtual Assessment Team Lead embeds our High Performance with High Integrity culture, focusing on Accountability and Transparency.
  • Operational Strategy - The role creates an operational setting that connects people to strategy delivery and day-to-day risk management.
  • Risk Management - The Virtual Assessment Team Lead identifies opportunities to improve the operating rhythm, intertwining People, Process, and Systems to deliver a high-fidelity Customer, Employee, and Business Experience.
  • Delivery Excellence - The role accelerates delivery and eliminates rework through disciplined execution, agility, and clear Key Performance Indicators.
  • Talent Development - The Virtual Assessment Team Lead develops, fosters, and embeds new capabilities to create sustainable growth.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Coaching team members in areas such as scoping accuracy, cost validation, compliance, project coordination, and virtual assessment techniques.
  • Providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement and increased capability.
  • Interpreting operational reporting and analytical information to support daily, weekly, and monthly priorities.
  • Leading the team to execute a high standard of service and process adherence.
  • Managing team members according to company policies and employment laws, applying relevant HR procedures (including Safety, Wellness, and Health, Workplace Behaviour, and Performance Improvement frameworks).
  • Demonstrating commitment to company values.
  • Guiding team members to enhance skills, overcome challenges, and achieve career goals.
  • Handling escalated claims, complaints, and complex matters.
  • Evaluating performance, setting clear expectations, and working collaboratively with team members to identify and set achievable targets.

To succeed in this role, you will bring:

  • Experience managing professionals and operating effectively within a team accountable for business results.
  • Proven ability to lead, manage, coach, and mentor a team.
  • Strong change-agility.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal communication skills for negotiating best business outcomes.
  • Strong written communication skills for report writing.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in Home Assessing or Building Industry.
  • Demonstrated experience building effective relationships with multiple stakeholders.
  • Insurance experience preferred but not essential.
  • Operational reporting literacy.
