Youth Health Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Youth Health Worker to join our team in the Early Intervention Impacts of Violence on Children program. As a key member of our team, you will work with young people who are pregnant or are parents, and who are disadvantaged and/or vulnerable to access and navigate through specialized primary health care services.
Key Responsibilities- Engage with young people and their families to provide high-quality, trauma-informed care and support.
- Develop and deliver quality outcomes for clients through the provision of youth health care services within a therapeutic counselling approach.
- Work in partnership with other health professionals and government and community agencies to improve service access and outcomes for young people.
- Contribute to a continuous service improvement focus through research, evaluation, and the development of policies, procedures, and practice standards.
- Provide quality supervision and professional development to team members and less experienced staff.
- Appropriate degree or equivalent qualification giving eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers.
- Knowledge of impacts of violence on children and contemporary therapeutic approaches in working with young pregnant and parenting people.
- Experience in working with young people, particularly those who are pregnant or are parents, and who are disadvantaged and/or vulnerable.
- Advanced interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to foster productive working relationships across disciplines.
