Job Description:

The Maintenance Officer will assist in maintaining the interior and exterior of a building to a high standard.

This includes ensuring the comfort and wellbeing of residents, advising on replacement or repairs as required.

  • Experience in building maintenance is essential
  • Knowledge of Aged Care industry is desirable
  • A thorough understanding of all legislative requirements pertaining to maintenance and repairs i.e. OH&S & Fire/Evacuation
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks including use of tools and equipment
  • Willingness to contribute to after-hours maintenance requirements from time to time
  • Excellent communication skills and respect for residents and colleagues
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with trades and service providers
  • Previous experience working autonomously with limited direction
  • Decision-making skills about costs and priorities and documenting a full plan for work to be completed
Key Requirements:
  • Previous experience in maintenance for a large facility
  • A current driver's license
  • Computer literacy
  • Reliability with a strong work ethic
