About the Role

The Department of Education, Western Australia is seeking a skilled Technical Support Officer to maintain the school's Information and Communication Technology (ICT) systems and network, ensuring reliability and sustainability to enhance the learning environment.

The successful applicant will provide advice on technical issues and collaborate with administration to maintain and develop the network system. They will also provide technical support and training to all users throughout the school site on various software applications and provide access to systems and resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, troubleshoot, and maintain information systems and ICT equipment in accordance with the school business needs and Department of Education policies and guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate records of ICT assets and resources and develop, implement, and monitor a replacement plan.
  • Provide technical support and training to all users throughout the school site on various software applications and provide access to systems and resources.
  • Liaise with other Department of Education personnel and communicate with external providers.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with staff at all levels.
  • Demonstrated conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to develop innovative solutions to information technology problems.
  • Demonstrated ability to install and maintain network systems incorporating the Internet and Electronic Mail.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills to develop effective administrative practices and the initiative to work with minimum supervision.
