About the Position

We are seeking a seasoned developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering results through writing high-quality code and providing technical guidance and mentoring to fellow developers.

This individual will be responsible for leading and/or participating in technical and architectural discussions, working closely with product, design and data peers to design, prototype and implement product features. They will also identify opportunities to recommend solutions and improve technology architecture.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of mobile development technologies, including Kotlin, Coroutines, Testing knowledge, Dependency Injection, Jetpack Compose and MVVM patterns. They will also have experience coaching and mentoring engineers and previous exposure to working in a similar product-based environment to Xero.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver results through writing code and code reviews.
  • Lead and/or participate in technical and architectural discussions.
  • Work with Product, Design & Data peers to design, prototype and implement product features.
  • Identify opportunities to recommend solutions and improve technology architecture.
  • Provide input and offer technical guidance and mentoring to engineers in the team.

Requirements:

  • A strong understanding of Kotlin, Coroutines, Testing knowledge, Dependency Injection, Jetpack Compose and MVVM patterns.
  • Experience coaching and mentoring engineers.
  • Previous exposure to working in a similar product-based environment to Xero.
