Lead Venue Manager and Sommelier Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Assistant Venue Manager & Sommelier to join our team in Canberra. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hospitality management and wine expertise, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional guest experiences.

About the Role

  • Run the floor and bar with energy and style alongside the Venue Manager
  • Guide guests to the perfect food and wine match
  • Curate and manage the wine & beverage lists, ensuring quality and cost control
  • Lead, train & inspire the FOH and bar teams to deliver high service standards
  • Keep service sharp, smooth and always guest-focused

About You

  • 2+ years in a management or assistant management role in a quality restaurant or bar
  • WSET accreditation or serious wine knowledge (Australian and Italian wine knowledge a plus)
  • Strong bar operations and cocktail expertise
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • ACT RSA and full Australian working rights
