Key Responsibilities- Strategic Risk Advice: Provide expert risk advice to ensure effective risk management and mitigation strategies are in place.
- Operational Risk Management: Develop and maintain robust relationships with business units, functional areas, and geographies to ensure effective risk management.
- Reporting and Governance: Execute reporting and governance of controls, policies, issues management, and measurements to inform senior management decisions.
- Training and Development: Assess the needs of business unit leaders to ensure sufficient understanding of Operational Risk Management and controls, and provide training and development opportunities to enhance risk management capabilities.
- Collaboration and Communication: Facilitate cross-functional collaboration and communication to ensure effective risk management and mitigation strategies are in place.
- Operational Risk Management Experience: Proven experience in operational risk management, with a strong understanding of critical operational risk management lifecycle activities.
- Leadership and Communication Skills: Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to interact and obtain buy-in from senior business unit leaders.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and evaluate risk scenarios effectively.
- Team Management: Demonstrated history and ability to manage large teams, spread over geographies and with varying backgrounds.
- Advanced Degree: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management, or related field; advanced degrees (e.g., MBA, MSc) or certifications are advantageous.
- Industry Experience: Experience in the financial services industry, with a strong understanding of operational risk management and mitigation strategies.
