About the Role
As an APS 6 Business and Security Advisor with the Australian Government Department of Defence, you will be responsible for providing high-level administrative support to the Destroyer Guided System Program Office (DDG SPO). The successful candidate will serve as the lead Security Officer for the DDG SPO and will work closely with the Business Management Team to deliver a broad range of administrative services.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of security policies and procedures within the DDG SPO;
- Manage records and data in accordance with Defence's mandatory data management system (Objective);
- Provide administrative support to the Business Manager, including inbox management, procurement, auditing, and reporting; and,
- Liaise with various stakeholders, including contractors, APS, and ADF members, to achieve work unit outcomes.
About Our Team
The DDG SPO is part of the Major Surface Ships Branch within Maritime Sustainment Division and the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group. The team is committed to delivering high-quality services and driving strategic efficiencies and innovation within the organisation.
Your Skills and Qualifications
- Extensive background in security with a sound understanding of records management;
- Strong written, interpersonal, and verbal communication skills;
- Ability to learn rapidly and adapt quickly to changing complex situations and uncertainty;
- Experience working in a collaborative team environment;
- Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities effectively; and,
- Proven ability to provide high-level administrative support.
About You
You will have a strong passion for delivering exceptional results in a fast-paced environment. You will be highly motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision. You will also possess excellent time management and problem-solving skills.
What We Offer
We offer a competitive salary package of AU$100,000 - AU$110,000 per annum, plus superannuation and annual leave loading. The role also offers opportunities for professional development and career advancement within the Australian Public Service.
