Job Title: Specialist in Palliative Medicine

We are seeking an exceptional palliative medicine consultant to join our multidisciplinary team and contribute to department growth and development.

This is a fixed-term temporary position for 80 hours per fortnight until 30 June 2026, requiring dedication and commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have experience in community, inpatient and outpatient palliative care, as well as state-wide services including specialist palliative rural telehealth.

A key focus of this role will be to enhance service delivery and improve patient outcomes through collaborative working practices.

  • Community Palliative Care: Develop and maintain effective relationships with local healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care transitions.
  • Inpatient and Outpatient Palliative Care: Provide comprehensive care to patients with complex needs, managing pain, symptoms and other clinical issues.
  • State-wide Services: Contribute to the expansion of specialist palliative care services across the region, leveraging technology to increase access to care.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement evidence-based care plans to meet individual patient needs.
  • Foster strong partnerships with healthcare professionals and community organizations to promote collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Promote a culture of innovation, education and training within the department.
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, analyzing data and implementing strategies to optimize patient outcomes.
