We are seeking a Senior Energy Market Modeller to join our team, responsible for developing models that support trading, portfolio management, and origination activities. This high-impact role requires a deep understanding of energy market fundamentals, commercial acumen, and technical skills.

As a Senior Energy Market Modeller, you will lead the development of market models across short- and long-term horizons. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure our modelling tools are robust, relevant, and aligned with market realities.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing market models that inform strategic decisions
  • Partnering with trading, portfolio, and asset development teams to support modelling activities
  • Monitoring market outcomes and identifying emerging trends using automated tools
  • Extracting and applying key assumptions from AEMO and third-party sources
  • Communicating complex insights clearly to stakeholders across the business
  • Mentoring junior analysts and fostering alignment across modelling approaches

The ideal candidate brings a solid grasp of energy market fundamentals, experience applying time series or optimisation models to real-world market scenarios, and proven ability to lead projects and manage analytical processes from concept to delivery.

Required skills and qualifications include:

  • Strong understanding of energy market fundamentals
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and Excel
  • Proven leadership and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly
