About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to join our team at John Holland. As a key member of our project delivery team, you will be responsible for managing the overall delivery of large and complex residential projects, valued at $200m-$1bn.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of managing multidisciplinary projects and project teams, with a strong focus on delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Managing the overall delivery of the project program, ensuring that all client expectations are met
  • Assigning resources to deliver the works within budget, time, quality, and regulatory standards
  • Managing the specialist functions of design, engineering, procurement, and construction
  • Liaising with the Construction Manager to modify design in construction systems and methods as necessary
  • Reviewing progress against plans, contractual arrangements, and delivery milestones to ensure they are on schedule and within quality and cost estimates
  • Financial management: ensuring strong contract, commercial, and financial risk management, accurate forecasting of both costs and revenue, and taking corrective action as required
  • Demonstrating leadership in health, safety, and environmental management
  • Demonstrating leadership in risk management, compliance, and auditing, and ensuring legislative, pre-contract, and commercial obligations are met
  • Stakeholder management: ensuring that stakeholders are actively engaged and that beneficial relationships between the project and the client, subcontractors, community, and other external parties are developed and maintained
  • People management: monitoring staff and labour resourcing to ensure the project has the capability to achieve targets, supervising the workforce, including subcontractors, and fostering a high-performance team within a positive employee relations environment
  • Contributing to new business, continuous improvement, and broader business activities
About You

To be successful in this role, you will have the following qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor of Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or equivalent
  • Diploma or Master's of Project Management, Certificate IV Safety
  • Multiple projects completed in a project management role on residential projects
  • Management of multidisciplinary projects and project teams
  • Contemporary practices in design and construction methodology
  • Contractual, legal, commercial, industrial relations, and legislative compliance
  • Advanced financial and commercial management, including cost reduction and meeting budgets
  • People and performance management, including the performance of subcontractors
  • Complex client relationship and stakeholder management
  • Quantitative and qualitative safety, environment, and quality risk assessment
  • Analysis of and reporting on complex project performance, compliance, defects, and/or non-conformance
  • Pre-contracts experience in managing tenders as a Bid Manager for a range of projects
  • Management of $100m+ residential projects
