About the Role:

The Senior Service Lead will mentor and monitor the workshop team to ensure apprentices have opportunities and support to develop their skills. The role involves collaborating with the Service Manager to ensure field and workshop operations run cohesively.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with job assignment and work areas for Service Department employees based on their skills and knowledge
  • Participating in repair order appraisals and diagnosis of machine problems with technicians and apprentices
  • Inspecting and repairing special tools and recommending new tooling as required
  • Advising the Service Manager or Service Location Manager on customer complaints and coordinating quarterly safety meetings
  • Filling the Service Manager or Service Location Manager role in their absence and participating in technician training
  • Arranging for and participating in re-conditioning of used equipment and set-up of new equipment
  • Approving equipment release for delivery to customers and assisting with performance feedback for service technicians and staff

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience as a Service Technician
  • Ability to lead others and provide effective communication
  • Familiarity with John Deere and competitive products
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Forklift license preferred
