Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Geospatial Systems Architect to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for designing and implementing scalable geospatial systems that meet the evolving needs of our business.

This role involves managing and maintaining server-side GIS technology, SQL databases and related applications. You will also be responsible for normalizing and centralizing core datasets within an SQL environment, as well as configuring and developing mobile, web and desktop GIS software to support business requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement scalable geospatial systems that meet business needs

  • Manage and maintain server-side GIS technology, SQL databases and related applications

  • Normalize and centralize core datasets within an SQL environment

  • Configure and develop mobile, web and desktop GIS software

  • Ongoing troubleshooting, maintenance and development of geospatial systems to ensure timely and accurate spatial data access for staff

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a relevant tertiary qualification in a field such as Spatial Sciences, IT, Geography or Natural Resource Management. They will also be proficient with ArcGIS Enterprise suite of products, RDBMS and SDE. Database administration skills, GeoMaster forest management system skills, and programming and scripting would also be advantageous.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent organizational and time management skills, who is able to work autonomously and as part of a team. The ability to communicate technical information easily to stakeholders is essential.
