Job Overview:
Our organization is seeking a passionate and dedicated Peer Support Specialist to join our team. As a Peer Support Specialist, you will utilize your lived experience of mental health recovery to provide authentic support and guidance to individuals on their healing journey.
You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality rehabilitation services, facilitate group programs, and help individuals develop practical skills for independent living.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide peer support to individuals and families in a respectful and empathetic manner
- Facilitate group programs to promote skill development, social inclusion, and personal growth
- Help individuals develop practical skills for independent living, such as daily living skills and time management
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive rehabilitation services
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have:
- Lived experience of mental health recovery and a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities associated with it
- Dedication and enthusiasm for supporting others and making a positive impact in the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, providing and receiving support as needed
