About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Approvals/Permitting Consultant to join our Sustainable Mining Team in Perth, WA. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and/or supporting a wide variety of projects related to capital project development, environmental approvals/permitting, and mine rehabilitation and closure planning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide approvals reviews, strategic advice, and identification of approvals triggers and pathways, as well as mitigation of approvals risks.
  • Provide technical expertise and strategic direction for the planning, execution, and monitoring of mine site rehabilitation and closure activities.
  • Stakeholder consultation and governmental engagement relating to project approvals.
  • Oversight, quality control, and recording of accurate high-quality data for reporting.
  • Collaborate with other ERM national and global practitioners to execute projects.
  • Mentor junior-level consulting staff to develop their skill sets.
  • Contribute to proposal development, including development of technical scopes and cost estimates.
  • Direct and monitor project management activities related to projects.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Environmental Science, Environmental Management, and/or Planning, or Engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant mining industry and/or other relevant sector experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of industry best practice and regulatory requirements, standards, and guidelines.
  • Auditing and compliance experience is advantageous.
  • Business development experience and client relationships.
  • Excellent technical writing, communication, strategic thinking, and people skills.
  • Project management skills.
