Job Description

As a Control Room Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding a premium commercial building. Your primary focus will be on real-time threat detection, incident investigation, and effective communication with on-site teams and emergency services.

You will oversee and protect the building by monitoring security systems, coordinating responses, and escalating incidents as required. Your core duties will include:

  • Monitoring CCTV systems to detect and respond to incidents in real time.
  • Coordinating emergency responses, liaising with on-site personnel and emergency services.
  • Operating and overseeing integrated security systems such as access control, alarm systems, and building management systems.
  • Logging all incidents and activities, ensuring accurate and detailed record-keeping.
  • Managing communication networks, including maintaining the security radio system with clarity and professionalism.
  • Overseeing access control and ensuring only authorised personnel enter secure areas.
  • Responding to alarms and triggering appropriate security and safety protocols.
  • Providing real-time situation reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Ensuring compliance with all operational security procedures.
  • Supporting incident investigations through retrieval and provision of surveillance footage.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will possess:

  • A current VIC Private Security Individual Licence.
  • A current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • A Working with Children Check.
  • A Police Check.
  • A minimum 1 year Control Room experience.
  • Strong knowledge of CCTV, access control, and alarm systems.
  • Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
  • High attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise in a fast-paced, high-security environment.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and within a team.
  • Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with incident reporting systems.
