Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

The RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team of 4 within the cloud team and part of a wider team of 50 in IT. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for working across multiple cloud projects and serving as the escalation point for junior engineers within the team.
Key Responsibilities- Microsoft 365 Support: Provide advanced support for the Microsoft 365 platform, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, OneDrive for Business, and Office 365.
- Azure Cloud and Infrastructure Management: Deploy, maintain, and optimize Azure Cloud resources, including virtual machines (VMs), storage accounts, key vaults, network security groups (NSGs), app services, and Azure SQL databases.
- Security: Prioritize the implementation, remediation, and maintenance of the highest levels of security standards, processes, and practices across all disciplines within the role.
- Identity and Access Management: Manage and maintain Active Directory (AD), Entra ID (AAD), group policies, and Azure AD Connect.
- Backup Administration: Implement and manage backup solutions using Azure Backups, Ave Point, and Veeam.
- Server and Network Administration: Administer Windows Server environments, including DNS and DHCP, and manage and support Hyper-V.
- Governance: Maintain a high level of technical documentation for areas of responsibility and lead and/or assist in the preparation of Disaster Recovery plans and testing for technologies within the remit of the role.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, security, and identity management. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a team environment and communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
