English Language Teacher Opportunity

This is a casual teaching position at the University of Adelaide's English Language Centre.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a range of English Language Centre programs as required in accordance with relevant curriculum objectives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Determining student needs and goals, and organizing student learning activities based on appropriate methodologies
  • Evaluating and assessing student learning, and maintaining high-quality educational standards

Candidates will have access to opportunities for professional development, including events and workshops, as well as a supportive and enjoyable student-centred environment that encourages innovation and quality teaching.

Selection Criteria:Requirements:
  • A minimum of 800 hours of experience in teaching English as an Additional Language (EAL) across a broad range of programs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and stakeholders from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • A strong pedagogical background, with experience in designing engaging and effective lessons
  • Ability to adjust teaching style to work with students who have varying levels of English proficiency
Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a degree or diploma of at least three years full-time or equivalent, plus one of the following qualifications: CELTA, Certificate IV in TESOL, or a post-graduate qualification in Education or a related field with a TESOL component.
