The primary responsibility of the Clinical Nurse Midwife is to provide high-quality nursing and midwifery care across the spectrum, utilizing leadership and advanced midwifery skills and knowledge relevant to the practice setting.
- Demonstration of evidence-based, family-centered midwifery care across the continuum of midwifery practice within an acute care setting.
- Competence in planning, coordination, and decision-making in the management of patients, within the relevant practice setting.
- Ability to function as a team leader and team member in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Demonstrated effective communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate information sharing between colleagues, women, and their families.
- Demonstrates incorporation of quality and risk management principles within practice.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5000 and $17000 in support over 12 months.
