About the Role We are seeking a seasoned product design and engineering professional to lead our small Product Design & Engineering team. As a hands-on team leader, you will be responsible for guiding day-to-day engineering operations, working closely with the Engineering Manager to execute the product development roadmap, improve design processes, and deliver high-quality products.
About You The ideal candidate is a practical, execution-focused engineer who enjoys both leading and doing. You should have a proven track record of success in product design and engineering, with strong technical skills and excellent leadership abilities. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and supporting your team, providing guidance, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring smooth project execution.
- Owning the design process, refining CAD models, improving design standards, and ensuring manufacturability of products.
- Working closely with manufacturing to optimize designs for efficient, high-quality manufacturing.
- Providing technical expertise to support sales and client-specific modifications.
Key Qualifications To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in product design and engineering in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong CAD skills, including parametric and modular design.
- Pre-production engineering and design-for-manufacture experience.
- Some team leadership or mentoring experience.
