Software Development Expert Role

This is a highly skilled and challenging role that involves designing, developing, integrating, testing and supporting Hexagon solutions.

Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, integrate, test and support Hexagon solutions to meet project deliverables.
  • Assist in the development of high-quality solutions within an agile environment to meet customer needs.
  • Engage with stakeholders to plan and develop Hexagon solutions that meet business objectives.
  • Maintain knowledge of technology trends in software development supported by Hexagon and customers.
  • Participate in design reviews, stakeholders' meetings and agile process meetings.
  • Support Sales and Marketing activities by providing technical expertise.
  • Foster relationships with peers across regions to leverage technical knowledge and solutions.
  • Provide technical support and resolve problems for existing customers.
  • Develop technical documentation according to Hexagon standards.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop technical and design documentation using version control systems.
  • Provide technical support to business stakeholders.
  • Assist with testing and deployment of Hexagon solutions.
  • Integrate automated tests into build and continuous delivery systems to improve quality of output.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Hexagon products, services and markets.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Tertiary level qualifications in Software Engineering or equivalent.
  • Certification in SQL Server, Oracle or similar databases will be highly regarded.
  • Strong software development experience and knowledge that can be applied to desktop and web-based solutions.
  • Proficiency in ASP.NET, SQL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and C#.NET technologies.
  • Experience in Test Driven Development will be advantageous.
  • Experience in unit testing frameworks will be beneficial.
  • Knowledge of SDLC, including configuration/release management, coding standards and documentation.
  • Experience in Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipelines will be advantageous.
  • Full-stack web development skills with understanding of web technologies including protocols, infrastructure, security and associated technologies.
  • Front-end: ReactJS, Angular or similar JavaScript technologies.
  • Back-end: Web service APIs and RDBMS Oracle or SQL Server (or comparable technologies).
  • Mobile development experience using React Native will be beneficial.
  • Proficiency in C++ will be advantageous.
  • Previous experience in traditional and hybrid project methodologies will be beneficial.
  • Agile (Continuous Delivery) experience with a passion for driving this culture within the team.
  • Level 3 support experience will be beneficial.
  • Demonstrated knowledge on relational databases will be advantageous.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Public Safety industry will be beneficial.
