Fabrication Specialist

D&S Steel Pty Ltd is a leading steel fabrication and erection company with over 15 years of experience in both domestic and commercial projects.

We are seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Specialist - Metal Craftsman to join our team, providing an attractive salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 per annum for this full-time, permanent position.

The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating and repairing metal structures and products, utilizing various welding techniques, including bolting and riveting, to align and join metal components.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and repair metal structures and products using a variety of tools and equipment
• Ensure welds meet specifications and standards through inspection and quality control checks
• Clean and smooth welds using polishing, filing, chiselling, grinding, and acidic treatments
• Conduct regular quality control checks and ensure compliance with industry standards
• Apply safety and occupational health standards in all welding operations
• Collaborate with team members to plan and prioritize work efficiently
• Operate a range of metalworking machinery and equipment, including lathes, presses, and cutting tools

Skills and Qualifications:

• AQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV in relevant field or equivalent
• At least 1 year of experience in a similar role
• Skilled in the use of various metalworking tools and equipment
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• Sound knowledge of welding procedures
