About the Role

As an Executive Pastry Chef, you will oversee food preparation, production, and implementation of menus designed to deliver innovation and project Sofitel Adelaide as a luxury hotel and market leader in the Adelaide food industry. You will work closely with the Executive Chef to maximise food and beverage profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the pastry team and manage daily operations, including menu planning, inventory management, and staff training
  • Develop and implement innovative pastry concepts that align with the hotel's brand and culinary vision
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to create menus that showcase the hotel's commitment to quality and excellence
  • Maintain high standards of food presentation, taste, and quality control
  • Manage kitchen budgets and resources to ensure optimal profitability
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 3 years' experience in a similar position, preferably in a high-end dining environment
  • A relevant trade qualification or equivalent experience
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and train staff
  • A strong understanding of menu engineering and pricing strategies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
