Newborn Care Specialist Opportunity

As a Newborn Care Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality care to critically ill newborns. This is an exceptional chance to leverage your nursing expertise and passion for neonatal care.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience working with premature, unwell, or complex-needs newborns in a NICU environment. Strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills are essential for making informed decisions in high-pressure situations. You must also possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with families and healthcare teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Deliver specialized nursing care to critically ill newborns in a NICU setting.
  • Collaborate with families and healthcare teams to support neonatal health outcomes.
  • Apply evidence-based practice to deliver safe and effective care.
  • Develop advanced clinical skills through structured mentorship and supervision.
  • Maintain emotional resilience and professionalism in demanding environments.
Requirements:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse Division 1 with AHPRA.
  • Extensive neonatal experience across SCN, HDU, and NICU settings.
  • Postgraduate certificate completed or in progress in neonatal nursing.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills in high-pressure neonatal scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills – Clearly and empathetically communicates complex clinical information.
