Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to join our team at the Department of Treasury QLD. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in leading data integration projects and data management activities to ensure outputs meet the highest standards of integrity, governance, accuracy, and timeliness.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Data Integration Projects: Develop and implement probabilistic data linkage methodologies and data management processes to ensure data quality, integrity, and governance.
  • Access, Process, and Analyze Data: Utilize tools such as R, Git Lab, and customised data linkage software to access, process, link, and analyze data.
  • Provide Technical Advice: Offer technical advice, information, and support to clients, senior officers, colleagues, and other stakeholders on data quality, linkage, and access.
  • Represent the Office: Represent the Department of Treasury QLD at internal, external, and cross-jurisdictional meetings, working groups, and other forums.
  • Develop and Maintain Relationships: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with clients, data custodians, data users, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Prepare Documentation: Prepare agreements, reports, correspondence, and other documentation as required.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and contribute to building personal and team skills and capability.

Requirements:

  • High Level of Knowledge: Demonstrate a high level of knowledge and applied experience in the collection, processing, analysis, and management of data.
  • Probabilistic Data Linkage: Undertake probabilistic data linkage and work with confidential/sensitive data.
  • R Expertise: Have expertise, or the ability to rapidly acquire expertise, using R.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Demonstrate organizational skills and the ability to manage competing work priorities in complex and changing environments.
  • Collaborative Approach: Have a collaborative approach and the ability to build and maintain working relationships.
  • Effective Judgement: Apply effective judgement, manage risk, and adhere to good governance principles.

Qualifications:

There are no mandatory qualifications needed for this role, however, relevant qualifications are highly regarded. High regard will be given to experience in probabilistic data linkage and R expertise.
