Join Our Team as a Human Resources Advisor

About the Opportunity:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Human Resources Advisor to join our team at St John of God Health Care. As a key member of our HR department, you will provide expert advice and support on HR practices, policies, and processes, working closely with Managers and Caregivers to drive business results and foster a positive work environment.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  1. Offer Generalist Advice: Provide guidance to Managers and Caregivers on Human Resource matters, ensuring they have the necessary information and support to make informed decisions.
  2. Develop Strategic Plans: Work with Managers to develop plans and strategies that address business needs, promote cultural development, and enhance caregiver capabilities.
  3. Collaborate and Coach: Facilitate collaboration among Managers, provide coaching, and identify opportunities for improvement in workforce management.
  4. Support Performance Management: Assist Managers in managing caregiver performance, providing guidance on performance management and improvement strategies.
  5. Conduct HR Analytics: Analyze HR data, develop, implement, and support strategies to improve performance and operational target achievements.
  6. Manage Injury Cases: Oversee non-work-related 'Fitness for Work' activities and Workers Compensation Cases, collaborating with Group and Injury Management Teams as needed.
  7. Liaise with Unions: Support Managers in interacting with Union Representatives, working with the Group IR Advisory Service as required.
  8. Coordinate Education Sessions: Schedule hospital visitations and education sessions from external service providers, participating in Disability Recruitment strategies and Aboriginal Engagement initiatives.
  9. Lead Projects: Assist with Workforce HR projects and initiatives, conducting research, workforce planning activities, and special projects as identified by senior leadership.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary Qualification: A tertiary level qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline.
  • Sound Knowledge: Demonstrate sound generalist HR knowledge, experience across various HR functional domain areas, and a track record of building strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills: Possess advanced organizational and analytical skills, with experience in delivering Human Resource Services in a complex work environment.
