Job Title: Weekend Physiotherapy Coordinator

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Physiotherapist to join our team as a Weekend Coordinator. This role will see you working alongside a dedicated allied health and clinical team that provides an inpatient physiotherapy service.

As a Weekend Coordinator, you will be responsible for the clinical support and leadership of the Physiotherapy team, with the support of the senior physiotherapy team.

  • Provide clinical guidance to physiotherapists and physiotherapy assistants working in orthopaedics.
  • Receive and triage new orthopaedic weekend referrals.
  • Make autonomous decisions regarding patient prioritisation, treatment objectives and strategies in an efficient and safe manner.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be required to:

  • Coordinate physiotherapy services during weekend shifts.
  • Manage patient allocations.
  • Coordinate ward handovers on orthopaedic wards.
  • Clinically manage weekend staff in orthopaedics.
  • Manage traffic light systems.
  • Coordinate PT/PTA lists.
  • Manage Day Rehab referrals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Physiotherapy or equivalent and current registration with Physiotherapy Board of Australia.
  • Ability to devise and evaluate evidence-based practice within assessment and treatment protocols.
  • Experience providing clinical education and supervision to junior staff members, Allied Health Assistants and/or students.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in an acute hospital setting.
  • Well-developed organisational and time management skills.
  • Flexible and positive approach to work.
