The Supreme Court of Victoria is the highest court in Victoria, comprising the Court of Appeal and the Trial Division.

This division handles major criminal and civil matters, including appeals against lower court decisions.

His Honour Justice Delany seeks two qualified candidates to serve as his associates from August 2025 onwards.

Candidates will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in the Commercial Court and observe the work of judges and advocates closely.

The successful applicant's duties will include:

  • Undertaking comprehensive legal research.
  • Assisting with analysis and producing reasons for judgment, papers, and presentations, including proof-reading and editing.
  • Drafting Court orders.
  • Performing administrative tasks, including managing judge-managed lists.
  • Acting as chambers' first point of contact, liaising with Court staff, the public, media, and professionals.
  • Participating in Court proceedings – both in person and via video conferencing.
