The Asset Management Coordinator role plays a pivotal part in strategic planning by ensuring accurate data collection, lifecycle analysis, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and maintain the Town's comprehensive asset management plan and policies.
- Manage and analyze asset and geomatics databases; conduct lifecycle and condition assessments.
- Conduct field inspections and maintain asset registry using tools such as GIS and Excel.
- Identify best practices for asset rehabilitation, renewal, and performance measurement.
- Collaborate with departments to establish risk management and service level standards.
- Prepare reports and recommendations for senior staff and Council members.
- Assist in capital budget preparation and long-term financial planning.
- Monitor capital project expenditures, reconcile variances, and prepare journal entries.
- Post-secondary education in finance, accounting, GIS, civil engineering, or related fields is preferred.
- Experience in municipal finance or engineering, focusing on capital infrastructure, is highly valued.
- Proficiency in GIS technologies, spatial database modeling, and asset management software is essential.
- Strong communication and presentation skills are required.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment are necessary.
- Familiarity with municipal practices, engineering standards, and legislation is advantageous.
- A valid Ontario Class G Driver's License and satisfactory Police Records Check are also required.
