We are seeking a Child Protection Specialist to work with multicultural families.

The successful candidate will have experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.

Responsibilities will include building relationships and appreciating the importance of children to our future.

The role targets Bangladesh/Pakistani speaking communities and language skills in Bangladesh/Pakistani are an essential requirement.

About the Role

This role is responsible for providing primary casework, secondary casework and cultural consultations to families from diverse backgrounds.

Caseworkers use their cross-cultural skills and expertise to assist families from a range of backgrounds.

Multicultural Caseworkers support families by providing:

  • Primary Casework - working with families from their target community
  • Secondary Casework - for families from their target community
  • Cultural Consultations - to other Caseworkers supporting families from their target community

About You

You will bring a commitment to working collaboratively with multicultural children, families and communities.

Requirements include:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Social Science, Welfare or a related field
  • Experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families
  • A valid Australian driver's licence and willingness to drive
  • A working with children clearance number

It is an essential requirement of the role that successful applicants are fully vaccinated and able to provide acceptable proof of vaccination status.
