The Role:

We are seeking a Workforce Planning Specialist to lead our Residential Care Rostering team. The successful candidate will implement an integrated workforce planning capability, focusing on operational excellence through effective resource capacity and demand forecasting, real-time monitoring, rostering optimisation, process governance, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Regional Managers and stakeholders to develop and implement workforce planning strategies.
  • Manage and review quarterly care minutes for each Residential Care location, analysing variances and occupancy rates to inform workload planning.
  • Consult with Facility, Regional, and Finance Managers on recommended roster changes based on care minute reviews.
  • Update the workload planner in UKG Dimensions quarterly with approved changes, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Continuously review and enhance rostering systems for efficiency, accuracy, and worker satisfaction, while reporting on workforce metrics and compliance.
  • Collaborate with the GM Workforce Development and Procurement team to manage third-party labor providers and maintain relationships with preferred providers.
  • Identify training needs and coordinate on-the-job training to enhance roster management and workforce planning skills within the team.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities that foster a high-performing, engaged team culture, balancing commercial outcomes with customer experience.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in workforce planning and roster management, particularly in the residential aged care or public health sector.
  • Ability to make decisions that balance commercial outcomes with customer experience, while effectively mitigating risks.
  • Skilled in leading and motivating teams, managing performance and employee wellbeing, and fulfilling accountabilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, including the Aged Care Quality Standards and the Fair Work Act.
  • Experience with workforce management software, specifically UKG Dimensions, including report generation and data analysis to monitor key performance indicators and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of fostering positive relationships with team members, customers, and stakeholders.
