Substance Use Support Specialist

We are seeking a professional to fill the role of AOD Program Facilitator. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team to address substance use issues among individuals in custody.
The key aspects of this role include conducting assessments, facilitating harm reduction programs, and developing treatment plans aimed at minimizing risks and promoting recovery.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments and screenings related to substance use, mental health, and risk factors.
- Facilitate harm reduction and release preparation programs for individuals with substance use histories.
- Develop individualized treatment and counseling plans focusing on trauma-informed care and relapse prevention strategies.
- Collaborate with healthcare services and reintegration programs to provide ongoing support post-release.
- Relevant qualification in social work, counseling, psychology, nursing, or AOD-specific certifications.
- Experience in AOD assessment, harm minimization, and recovery support for individuals with substance use issues.
- Knowledge of harm reduction strategies and experience in facilitating group programs on drug awareness and relapse prevention.
- Strong communication skills for building relationships across teams.
