Australian Unity is seeking an Aboriginal Support Worker to join our team in NSW, providing culturally appropriate in-home support to our aged Elders.

Job Summary

This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of our community members. As an Aboriginal Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing domestic assistance, social support, and personal care to our clients.

You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality services that are tailored to meet the needs of each client.

About the Role

This role is perfect for individuals who are passionate about working with older adults and have a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.

You will be required to:

  • Provide domestic assistance, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
  • Offer social support, such as accompanying clients to appointments and outings
  • Perform personal care duties, including showering, feeding, and toileting

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to cultural sensitivity and respect.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to:

  • Hold a current Australian driver's license and own a reliable insured vehicle
  • Be vaccinated against COVID-19 (two doses)
  • Live within 15-20km radius to ensure convenient commuting
