Underwriting Specialist

This is an exceptional opportunity to develop and refine your skills in the agricultural insurance sector.

We are seeking a talented Underwriting Specialist to join our expanding team. In this role, you will collaborate with brokers to deliver outstanding service, support senior underwriters, and contribute to the growth and success of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake new business, renewals, and endorsements within delegated authority limits and in accordance with underwriting guidelines to achieve underwriting objectives.
  • Provide professional and market-leading service to brokers, ensuring high accuracy when processing transactions and meeting service delivery standards.
  • Support senior underwriters by reviewing referrals from team members with lower delegated authority limits, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of portfolio performance and monitoring metrics shared by the Product Management team.
  • Participate in ad-hoc project work as required by the Product Management team.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years' experience in underwriting, broking, or a related field.
  • Proven expertise in underwriting, insurance principles, and product knowledge.
  • Experience in or exposure to agriculture is preferred.
  • AQF Certificate IV in General Insurance (FNS41415) or AQF Diploma of General Insurance (FNS51115).
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to analyze and use data to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent relationship management and interpersonal skills.
  • Contributes positively to the team environment.
