About the Role

Lycopodium is a leading engineering and project delivery company with a global presence. We are currently seeking a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer Specialist to join our growing Minerals team in Brisbane, Australia.

This role will play a critical part in delivering high-quality design outputs that meet project requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the coordination and production of mechanical drawings, ensuring they are fit for purpose and aligned with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate technical aspects of project design across multiple disciplines.
  • Conduct timely reviews of mechanical drawings to ensure compliance with design intent.
  • Approve and guide engineering designs, including calculations and design development.
  • Develop technical documentation using relevant industry standards and guidelines.
  • Liaise with drafting teams to prepare drawing deliverables.
  • Approve accurate engineering lists, including equipment, lubrication, spares, valves, pipeline, and special items.
  • Maximise discipline productivity by planning, scheduling, and allocating resources effectively.
  • Contribute to engineers-in-training professional development through mentoring and identifying areas for growth.
  • Develop and contribute to improvement initiatives supporting business priorities for continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 15 years of postgraduate experience in mineral processing or related industries, with preference for gold, base metals, or lithium experience.
  • CP Eng and RPEQ qualifications preferred.
  • Effective management skills for multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Business acumen with adaptability to different business environments.
  • Intuitive leadership with ability to initiate, lead, and manage change in complex settings.
  • High attention to detail and process optimisation expertise.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality service within budget and time constraints.
  • Will to travel outside Australia on an ad-hoc basis to support business needs.
