Job Title: Risk Specialist

About the Position:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical individual to join our Risk Management team. As a Risk Specialist, you will work with colleagues to identify and develop an understanding of pertinent details related to financial institutions and funds.

You will be responsible for performing regular data analysis, developing key insights, and contributing to informed decision-making within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work as an advisor in a team environment to analyze, process, and summarize financial data.
  • Maintain, update, and monitor internal databases, providing guidance on past assessments.
  • Generate insightful analysis and reporting on key aspects of financial portfolios and contribute to informed decision-making within the organisation.
  • Keep guidelines and methodology documentation up to date, ensuring compliance and accuracy in internal processes.
  • Provide training on data analysis and reporting to new colleagues, promoting growth and proficiency across the teams.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with colleagues across various geographical locations, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team through individual development and process/policy/procedure simplification projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2-4 years' experience in a financial institution with 1-2 years' experience in risk management preferred.
  • Relevant educational qualifications.
  • Good proficiency in working with excel and other data analysis tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and an eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of management and internal stakeholders.
  • A willingness to make and defend evidence-based risk decisions.
  • Problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
