Job Description

Australia's energy system and market operator is seeking a Cyber Security Expert to support the development and execution of a program of work to enable effective discharge of responsibilities in coordinating with government authorities and energy market participants on cyber security incidents.

The successful candidate will apply knowledge of and experience in the energy sector to forge effective collaborations and partnerships to address cyber security challenges affecting the sector.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivery and ownership of complex outcomes in support of the Energy Markets team's responsibilities relating to cyber maturity uplift.
  • Maintain contacts and engage with stakeholders across government, industry, and academia.
  • Identify and review energy sector cyber security standards.
  • Support review and refinement of sector-specific cyber maturity frameworks and reporting on security preparedness of the sector.
  • Assist in the development of supporting materials and presentations.
  • Coordinate internal and contracted resources to deliver objectives.
  • Support Manager in reporting on progress against initiatives and other duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the energy sector supporting critical infrastructure, resilience, and cyber security initiatives (preferred).
  • Effective analysis and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of security control and maturity frameworks relevant to the energy sector.
  • Knowledge of jurisdictional structures and arrangements across State, Territory, and Commonwealth governments with respect to energy and cyber security.
  • Contemporary knowledge of cyber adversary techniques and tradecraft.
  • Procurement, program, and project management skills.
  • Financial/budget management, scheduling, and resource management skills.
  • Ability to travel interstate and work flexible hours.

Education/Professional Certifications:

  • Tertiary qualifications in computer science, technology-related fields, energy-related fields, or equivalent experience.
  • Cyber security, energy, or project management qualifications or certifications would be advantageous.
