Job Overview

The Finance Officer plays a pivotal role in maintaining robust financial controls and delivering efficient services to internal and external stakeholders. The primary focus is on administering rates and accounts receivable functions, including debt recovery, water billing, and statutory compliance.

• Provides essential support to the Rates Coordinator by facilitating seamless rate management and enhancing customer service delivery.
• Supports the broader finance team, including performing duties during periods of leave or absence, thereby ensuring continuity of operations.
• Engages with other departments to streamline rate management, enhance customer service delivery, and contribute to policy development related to rates and debt recovery.

• Demonstrated experience in financial administration, including rates and accounts receivable, with a proven track record of delivering accurate and timely results.
• Reconciliation processes and preparing financial reports, with attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Maintaining accurate financial records in compliance with audit and statutory requirements, with a focus on risk management and fraud prevention.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities, ensuring timely completion of tasks and projects.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, including customers, colleagues, and senior management.
