The Victorian Aboriginal Child and Community Agency seeks an experienced leader to provide culturally safe support to vulnerable children and young people.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead a team of support workers in case management work.
- Model high standards of practice and advocate for the best interests of each individual child and young person within their family and community.
- Provide supervision, oversight of caseloads, professional development, team building, monitoring and areas of compliance, auditing, reporting, data collection, program development and contribution to quality improvement of the program.
- Assess and manage risk within the program, ensuring up-to-date safety planning that aligns with best practice.
- A commitment to VACCA's values and purpose.
- Ability to collaborate with professionals, stakeholders and the community.
- Awareness and appreciation of Aboriginal cultures and issues affecting Aboriginal people and diversity within Aboriginal communities.
- Experience working with Aboriginal families and children.
- Strong communication skills in a culturally respectful manner.
- Leadership experience in child and family welfare providing support, feedback and professional development opportunities.
- Knowledge of child and family welfare policies, legislation and practices.
- Organisational skills including time management, planning and teamwork.
- Flexibility to work varied hours as needed.
- Leadership experience in Case Management preferably with young people in Out of Home Care.
- Relevant qualification in Social Work or related field or equivalent experience.
