The role of Security Psychologist is a vital part of Australia's national security community, working across the full spectrum of operations required of contemporary signals intelligence and security agencies.

The ASD Psychology Services team is a large team of professionals who help support the mission. We provide a supportive and collaborative environment for our psychologists to apply their clinical and forensic skills in support of National Security.

About the Role
  • Develop and apply clinical or forensic skills to support core security functions.
  • Utilise psychometrics to formulate complex whole-of-person assessments.
  • Manage a therapeutic client load of complex clients.
  • Deliver specialised workforce training.
  • Contribute to team management of complex cases and organisational initiatives to maintain national security.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a Portfolio area.
  • Develop and implement governance strategies.
  • Provide specialist advice to leadership.
  • Engage with stakeholders using strong communication skills.

Requirements
  • Currently studying toward a Masters level qualification in psychology (ACAP approved Clinical or Forensic Psychology program).
  • Eligible for, or hold, current unconditional general registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • Eligible to undergo, or completing, a Psychology Board of Australia (PsychBA) approved endorsement pathway in Clinical and/or Forensic Psychology.
  • Eligible for membership with the Australian Psychological Society.
