About the Opportunity

We are seeking an APS4 Junior Data Analyst to join our Reviews branch in Geelong. This 12-month contract offers a unique opportunity for career growth and development, with potential for extension beyond the initial term.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and manage team email inboxes, calendars, and appointments, ensuring seamless communication and prioritisation of tasks.
  • Conduct research and respond to general enquiries, analysing documents and data to provide accurate and timely information.
  • Coordinate and prepare meeting minutes and papers, supporting effective collaboration and decision-making.
  • Support the drafting of written communications and manage documents and databases, maintaining high standards of quality and integrity.
  • Organise travel and finance reconciliation, ensuring efficient management of resources and compliance with organisational procedures.
  • Participate in project management work as directed, contributing to the delivery of work priorities and objectives.
Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Responsible for gathering, analysing, and interpreting data to inform business decisions.
  • Collect and analyse data from various sources, transforming it into actionable insights that drive business outcomes.
  • Identify patterns and trends in data sets, using statistical techniques to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Prepare reports and visualise data using tools such as Excel and Visio, communicating complex information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Assist in creating data-driven decisions within the organisation, ensuring that business strategies are informed by evidence-based analysis.
  • Maintain databases and data systems to ensure accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity, resolving any issues related to data management through regular auditing and monitoring.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to interact with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
Eligibility and Requirements

The successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check, and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
