Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage quality control processes for fabrication projects.
  • Create and implement inspection and test plans, check sheets, and welding documents.
  • Select and submit weld procedure specifications for approval.
  • Resolve welding issues during project execution.
  • Coordinate non-destructive testing, post-weld heat treatment, and industrial painting.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed quality documentation.
  • Address client queries regarding welding procedures.
  • Train and coach staff on quality control best practices.
  • Implement and monitor the company's welding management system.
  • Conduct welder qualification tests to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide expert advice on fabrication methods and materials.
  • Participate in regular safety audits and inspections.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant mechanical trade or tertiary qualifications (Cert III or higher).
  • Weld Australia International Institute Welding Inspector - Basic Qualifications or equivalent.
  • Experience with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum materials.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a welding supervisory or leadership role.
  • Excellent reading and interpretation skills for fabrication drawings.
  • Strong organizational and management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Highly motivated individual with good written, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a dynamic environment.
