Job Opportunity

An exciting role has arisen for a Diversional Therapist to join our Transitional Aged Care Service at Sutherland Hospital. As part of the team, you will collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance the social wellbeing of participants after acute hospital admission and during home-based rehabilitation.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work in line with NSW Health policies, procedures, and standards to provide high-quality care to clients on the Transitional Aged Care Program. Key responsibilities include supervision, quality improvement initiatives, education delivery to other healthcare professionals, and teaching students on clinical placement.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level therapist to utilise their expertise and knowledge to make a positive impact on the lives of clients.

We are seeking an experienced Diversional Therapist who can lead by example, demonstrate exceptional negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills, and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.

Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in leisure, recreation, or diversional therapy, recognised by the Diversional Therapy Association of Australian National Council.
  • Extensive postgraduate clinical experience in Diversional Therapy with aged care clients.
  • Ability to provide high-level clinical advice, education, and support to others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
