Public Spaces Conservationist Trainee

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Public Spaces Conservationist Trainee. The successful applicant will work closely with our experienced conservation team to gain hands-on experience in maintaining and conserving public spaces, parks, and recreational facilities.

The traineeship will provide you with the skills and knowledge to develop your career in local government or the horticulture industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and improve community facilities and open spaces
  • Conduct beach, garden, and tree maintenance activities
  • Develop practical skills in groundskeeping and open space care
  • Identify and treat pests, diseases, and weeds affecting plant and turf health
  • Minor construction works and litter collection

You will have the opportunity to work on diverse public spaces and facilities, acquiring the skills to grow a strong and sustainable career.

Requirements:
  • Be willing to learn on the job and ask questions
  • Have a strong interest in maintaining and improving community facilities
  • Be a team player with strong communication skills (both written and verbal)
  • Be safety-conscious and committed to working safely for yourself and others
  • Able to commit to study requirements and complete training in a timely and organised way
  • Hold a current Driver's License (Red P's or more)
  • Able to comply with uniform and PPE requirements
