About this Role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to support the NSW Service Plan for Individuals with Eating Disorders. This initiative aims to develop and strengthen pathways to care, foster evidence-based practice, and build capacity within the workforce.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external service providers to deliver adult-specific eating disorder consultation liaison and capacity building.

  • Provide clinical consultation liaison and capacity building to Mental Health, Medical, Dietetic, and other service teams.
  • Deliver intensive short-term care coordination using a multi-systemic approach with carers and patients/families.
  • Implement evidence-based short-term interventions (individual and group).
  • Lead clinical supervision and training for clinicians and stakeholders in relation to eating disorders.
Key Responsibilities

This role requires a strong understanding of eating disorders and the ability to provide expert guidance and support to various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to effectively collaborate with diverse teams.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Developing and delivering tailored training programs for mental health professionals.
  2. Providing consultation and liaison services to medical, dietetic, and other service teams.
  3. Coordinating and facilitating multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care.
  4. Contributing to the development of evidence-based treatment protocols and guidelines.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in mental health, preferably with experience in eating disorder management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with diverse teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively.
  • Familiarity with relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines.
