About the ProjectThe successful candidate will have the chance to work on a comprehensive project that aims to develop a novel approach for assessing landslide risk in urban environments. By integrating advanced site investigation techniques, specifically Cone Penetration Testing (CPT) and Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW), the researcher will generate detailed three-dimensional subsurface profiles of unstable urban slopes.
Research Objectives- To unify high-resolution soil data collection methods and non-destructive mapping techniques, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
- To produce detailed 3D models of subsurface variability in unstable slopes and integrate them into advanced numerical simulations to assess how spatial variability in soil properties affects landslide mechanisms and slope deformation.
- A degree in geotechnical engineering, civil engineering, geophysics, earth sciences, or environmental science, with a strong understanding of geotechnical principles and practices.
- Experience or a strong interest in fieldwork, particularly in geotechnical or geophysical site investigation.
- Ability to develop expertise in advanced data analysis and numerical modeling, and a collaborative mindset for effective teamwork.
- Commitment to producing impactful research that addresses critical urban and environmental issues.
